In 2007, Leila de Bruyne, Toby Storie-Pugh and Justine King (pictured above with Joseph) started Flying Kites after spending time working with orphaned and homeless children in the slums of Kayole. Determined to provide a preferential option for the poor, the trio purchased a six-acre farm in Kenya's central highlands and built a home and school for children who would otherwise have nowhere to turn.
Today, Flying Kites is still driven by a desire to challenge the status-quo. No more bowls of rice and rows of bunk beds. We can do better for a generation desperate for a chance to fight their own way out of poverty. Join us.
