In 2007, Leila de Bruyne, Toby Storie-Pugh and Justine King (pictured above with Joseph) started Flying Kites after spending time working with orphaned and homeless children in informal settlements on the outskirts of Nairobi. Inspired to provide a preferential option for the poor, the trio set out to partner with leading teachers and build a school to help raise the standards of education available to vulnerable students in rural Kenya.

Today, Flying Kites is still driven by a desire to challenge the status-quo.  No more bowls of rice and rows of bunk beds.  We can do better for a generation desperate for a chance to fight their own way out of poverty.  Join us.
