Day 1: Upon arrival in Lima your guides will be in the lobby holding a sign with your name on it in order to transfer you to your hotel.
Day 2: In the morning you are transferred to the airport by your guides to catch your flight to Cusco. Upon arrival, your guides will greet you and take you to your hotel. In the early afternoon your guides will meet you at your hotel to begin the Cusco city tour. The Cusco City Tour visits the most significant sites in and around Cusco. The Tour Begins at 1:45pm with it's first stop being Koricancha, the temple of the Sun, the most notable building in Cusco during Incan rule. You will then head outside Cusco to the fortress of Sacsayhuaman overlooking the city. Here you have the opportunity to take some great pictures of the city and and valley below. The stones that make up the Sacsayhuaman complex are huge in scale and very impressive. From here you go on to visit the smaller sites of Tambomachay, Qenq'o and Puka Pukara.
Day 3: The Sacred Valley Tour takes you to the center of Inca cosmology, sacred sites at the heart of of the Inca Empire.
Day 4: The Salkantay Trek begins with a 5:00 a.m. pick-up you from your hotel or hostel in Cusco. We begin the trek by traveling to Mollepata. Afterwards, we will hike through some of the most spectacular scenery in Perú, walking across snowy high passes as we start descending into the cloud forest. Here vegetation and wild life will become more abundant and the weather milder. We reach our camp in the afternoon at Colpany 2,900 m. (9,514 ft.), where we will enjoy dinner as a team and spend the night.
Day 5: After breakfast we depart Colpany to trek through the upper jungle, crossing the Lluskamayo River and a variety of little brooks. The days hike is through valleys, with views of waterfalls and tropical fruits. We will stop in Playa (Sahuayaco) 2,250 m. (7,381 ft.) for lunch, and then we will then be driver
for 40 minutes to Santa Teresa 1,900 m. (6,233 ft.) where we will stay overnight. Here you have the opportunity to relax in Cocalmayo thermal baths.
Day 6: After breakfast we'll begin our hike through the Santa Teresa Valley to the Hydroelectric station, here will have our lunch and continue along the rail lines to Aguas Calientes the hike lasts approximately 6 hours arriving at Aguas Calientes 1900 m. (6233 ft.).
Day 7: We will have an early breakfast and begin our hike up to the Machu Picchu Citadel. When you arrive at Machu Picchu you will be able to enjoy a sunrise over the ruins (weather permitting). You then will begin a 3 hour tour of Machu Picchu. After that, you'll have free time before being driven to Cusco.
