I don't know about you, but we love to read.

Join our book club and participate in conversations through blogging, Skype chats and video uploads.  New books are announced every 8 weeks, and they are generally appropriate for children from the age 8-years-old and up. We pick books that the grown-ups at Flying Kites also want to read and we welcome readers of all ages, from all over the country.

This term will be reading Wonder, by R.J. Palacio:

August (Auggie) Pullman was born with a facial deformity that prevented him from going to a mainstream school—until now. He’s about to enter fifth grade at Beecher Prep, and if you’ve ever been the new kid, then you know how hard that can be. The thing is Auggie’s just an ordinary kid, with an extraordinary face. But can he convince his new classmates that he’s just like them, despite appearances?

Students from Flying Kites will be reviewing the book and initiating questions around characters and themes.
